History.

Inspired by a legacy of compassion and a belief in the transformative power of giving, Ann and Rick Bresnahan embarked on a journey to instill profound values in their family, echoing the timeless adage: "For those to whom much is given, much is expected." From their earliest days, Ann and Rick were nurtured in an environment that cherished community and emphasized the importance of making a positive impact on the world.

Their upbringing planted the seeds of philanthropy deep within their souls, igniting a passion for social responsibility that would shape their lives and the lives of their children for generations to come. With a shared vision of fostering a culture of giving and service, Ann and Rick established the REDCO Foundation (REDCO) over two decades ago.

REDCO wasn't merely conceived as a charitable entity; it was a labor of love, a vessel through which Ann and Rick sought to impart invaluable lessons to their three children. It served as a platform to introduce them to the profound joys of philanthropy and to nurture their innate desire to make a difference in the world.

“Ann and Rick’s support of Trekkers throughout the years has been truly transformational. I am continually inspired by their commitment to young people throughout the state and their desire to make Knox County the best place to live in Maine. In addition to their philanthropic leadership, the Bresnahan’s are generous with their time, guidance, wisdom, and positivity. They represent the best of humanity and Trekkers and our students are fortunate to have them in our corner.”

Looking toward the Future.

As the years passed, REDCO evolved, driven by a steadfast commitment to its founding principles and an unwavering dedication to community betterment. While for much of its 20 years, REDCO operated behind the scenes, quietly making a difference, we now find ourselves on the cusp of a new era. In this era, REDCO will step into the spotlight, becoming more public-facing and vocal about its mission and impact.

Poised to become a beacon of philanthropy, REDCO is ready to illuminate the path towards a healthier, more equitable future for all. This transition marks a pivotal moment in our journey—a moment where we embrace our role as changemakers and advocates for social justice.

With newfound visibility comes an even greater responsibility to drive meaningful change and inspire others to join us in our mission. Through transparency, collaboration, and unwavering dedication, we will continue to lead by example, empowering individuals and communities to thrive.

As we embark on this exciting chapter, we remain guided by the timeless values instilled by Ann and Rick — the values of compassion, integrity, and a deep-seated belief in the power of philanthropy to shape a better world. Together, let us embark on this journey with courage and conviction, knowing that our collective efforts will leave a lasting legacy of hope and resilience for generations to come.

“Rick and Ann’s generosity provided an indoor space for our community to gather and play sports throughout the long Maine winters. Their leadership, compassion, and commitment to make a difference in our community extends far beyond the walls of the Pitch. The transformative impact of their lives in this community is something that can be felt as much as can be seen, touching hearts and lives of generations to come. The spirit that we embody at the Pitch depicts what we have learned from our relationship with Rick and Ann throughout the years. Be generous, hospitable, inclusive, and make life fun for others.”
